Women in Research!

Author: Arlo Cansino

To celebrate Women’s Month, we highlight the efforts of women who continue to thrive in a male-dominated field. We present BVEC’s Co-Director Dr. Nicole Achee, Research Associate Marie Pott, Research Assistant Mariely Campos, and Notre Dame Research Program Coordinator Marla Cansino. Their affinity for Science and Research has made their entry and continued success an easy feat.

In March, BVEC participated in a three-day training session with Vector Control Staff. Among the cohort, three outstanding women proved their worth among their male counterparts, highlighting that being women in science should not be considered an anomaly.

We also highlight women working behind the scenes that make research matter by coordinating with various partners to align overall goals to make these projects successful. We are ecstatic to have these women as part of our team.
