Gina Cob was born in Corozal but, at a very young age, moved to Orange Walk, where she has spent all her life. Gina attended St. Peter's Anglican School, where she graduated as the valedictorian of her class. She continued her studies at Muffles College High School, where she was sure to pursue business; however,r as destiny would have it, she was placed into the science program and in 2017, Gina graduated from Muffles College High School with honors. She furthered her education at Centro Escolar Mexico Junior College in Corozal, majoring in Biology and Natural Resources Management, where she learned and developed many skills and furthered her love for science. In 2019, Gina graduated from CEMJC with an Associate's degree with honors and decided to further her education at the University of Belize in Belmopan, where she majored in Biology and in 2021, she graduated from UB with a Bachelor's in Biology with honors, Magna Cum Laude.

New to the workforce and a love for science, Gina sought opportunities to engage in the science field and in 2024, Gina got an opportunity to join BVEC as a Research Associate. At BVEC, Gina is learning the importance of vector surveillance and vector-borne diseases affecting Belize and within the region. With her love of science, Gina is excited to become a part of the team and continue the fight against vector-borne diseases.
