Research Associate, Marie Pott representing BVEC in the PAHO Healthy Lifestyle Caravan in San Pablo Village, Orange Walk District. Alongside the Vector Control Unit, both organizations highlighted the importance of environmental health, and identifying positive changes to mitigate incidences of arboviral infections.

Research Assistants, Uziel Romero and Mariely Campos represented BVEC at the World Malaria Day Health Fair in Corozal Town. To attract the audience to BVEC's booth, the team traveled with a microscope so the audience could get a chance to get a bigger view of small insects and bugs. It is always a hit for schoolchildren and adults to get an opportunity to be scientists.
APRIL 2024

BVEC was invited to participate in the Ministry of Health and Wellness Outreach Program. BVEC Manager Alvaro Cruz and Research Assistant Mariely Campos represented BVEC and highlighted arbovirus threats in Belize by showcasing the various mosquito species and kissing bug samples.
